LESSONS FROM PHOEBE
As mentioned in my first introductory post about Phoebe, she has taught me an abundance of important lessons over the past 4 years. For instance, in the midst of our current heatwave, I have watched as Phoebe makes sure to stay hydrated, eat only when hungry, and make the best use of a fan I have ever seen – sprawling in front of it with wild abandon. She makes sure to find the coolest spots and plants her little self right there, avoiding anywhere that will make her feel uncomfortable. She rests when she needs to. Once refreshed, she goes to her toy basket and is filled with energy to undertake a favorite hobby…thrashing about her little rubber sea dragon, Worms Magoo! She is super loving and is never shy to show us that she loves us. She is not a loud little girl, and really only barks to give us a heads up that someone is approaching the house. She never passes up the chance to have a tasty peanut butter treat or a piece of chicken that is calling her name. In a nutshell, Phoebe marches to the beat of her own drum and showers everyone she encounters with love and attention. She seizes the moment; that is something I am trying to do more and more in my life (it is one of the very reasons I started blogging) and I am thankful for her influence on me! Inspirations come in all shapes and sizes…and species!
Don’t forget, she can really talk and has a winning smile!!! Auntie loves you Phoebe!! Xoxox
