Whether paired with jeans, black dress pants or a pencil skirt, the iconic white shirt is an item guaranteed to make you look timeless and sophisticated. It can be worn alone or layered under a cashmere sweater, fisherman knit sweater or blazer (another fashion classic we spoke of last week!). For a comprehensive history of the white shirt, head on over to Vogue and read their great synopsis.  I recommend if you don’t have one already, to definitely incorporate one into your wardrobe this fall.  They can be found at every price point but just make sure to look for good quality and try it on first – you want it tailored to fit your body and individual proportions in the right places – no chest gaps or too-long arms and torsos, ladies! I always have luck at  J Crew, but there are splurges out there for sure; I am a huge fan of the garments and tailoring of The Row (but alas, will keep them on a wish/dream list for the forseeable future :)).
