The 90’s grunge scene seems to be making a comeback. We all know fashion is like a revolving door, things come and go and then re-appear again. So if you had a pair of Dr. Martens like I did when I was younger it’s time to dust them off and incorporate them back into your wardrobe.  Dr.Martens are the greatest pair of investment boots a girl can have. Their classic military style never goes out of fashion and these shoes will never fall apart on you.  They are so versatile and today you can find them in a range of styles that will suit just about any taste.

Docs as people call them have been around since the 1960’s. The rebellious kids that started the street looks of the punk and mod scenes were the first to adapt the growing trend in 60’s Britain and London. The trend stayed true to these genres throughout the years but then the late 80’s came.  Docs became popular to a whole new audience in the mid 80’s to the early 90’s. The grunge scene was here and docs were the staple shoe for this movement.  Woman dressed their docs with fishnet tights, plaid skirts, baby doll dresses and pants.

This year docs are making a comeback not only on runways but in the streets too. Celebrities like Dakota Fanning and Drew Barrymore have been seen wearing these.  Today they can be worn over skinny jeans paired with a feminine blouse and you’ll be ahead of the trend. Don’t let men be the only ones who get to wear this classic boot. You can get docs in an array of colors so don’t be afraid if you think you can’t strut them in classic black. Wear them this spring in a chic way with floral print dresses, denim shorts and colorful skirts. There are no limitations when it comes to fashion, so if you’re going to wear them, remember to wear them like a lady! Shop for yours at www.drmartens.com
