I’m a one-piece swimsuit kind of girl. I just like the silhouette of a one-piece better, I think it’s classic and vintage-inspired. I feel like the touch of old Hollywood glamour is the best way to really feel beautiful in swimwear, which is totally essential since the very idea of swimwear causes mass hysteria and diet deadlines in so many of us! Instead of obsessing over what size the swimsuit is, wouldn’t it be nice to just feel totally gorgeous in it? A one-piece is a great way to do just that, but last year my search for one was not simple. for every 1,000 bikinis, I would find one one-piece, and most of those one-pieces were made for the 60+ demographic. I did find one, but it wasn’t anything thrilling and it took me a month. This year, though, a few trends are contributing to a rise in one-piece availability: the old Hollywood glam look, the boosted embracing of vintage looks and silhouettes, and the lingerie trend, which is speaking corset-y swimwear and suits that look like frilly-femme lingerie from the 1940’s. As it just so happens, today on Gilt there is a Marc by Marc Jacobs swimwear sale, and there are tons of dreamy one-pieces, just as many, if not more, than the two-pieces. Here are some of the best:
On top of the lingerie look and the vintage look, there’s even some nautical thrown in there, and some Charlie’s Angels glam, too. If you’re in the market for a one-piece, Marc by Marc Jacobs seems to be the designer to turn to!
