Haute New Books for the New Year

Only one more full day until the new year arrives, what to do hmm. Well of course you’re going to shop so I put together a list of some haute new books that will soon be available in January. Once the holidays are over it will be time to relax and enjoy something that you can buy for yourself. Why not a haute new fashion book? Here is my list of inspiring haute books that I want to check out in the month of January!

Fashion 150 years of Couturiers, Designers, Labels written by Charlotte Seeling will be available January 10, 2011.  This book explores the world of fashion in its entirety. It starts in the early nineteenth century with the corset and ends in the present era. In this book you will find photographs of the finest designers that have made a huge impact on the fashion world.  Author Charlotte Seeling is best known for her work in the 80’s as chief editor of  Cosmopolitan, Vogue, French Marie Claire and Harpers Bazaar! Hedi Slimane- photogrpahy portfolio will be available January 15, 2011. This stunning photography book glamorously shows off Hedi Slimanes work in one book. He is a well known fashion photographer who’s work expresses a dark high fashion tone.  In this book Hedi uses some well known subjects to capture such as: Kate Moss and Pete Doherty. Vintage Fabric Accessories: Stylish Creations from Recycled Fabrics written by Kaoru Ishikawa will be available January 16, 2011. This book is for all you creative fashionistas out there who love to create things out of vintage fabrics. This book will guide you how to create tote bags, wallets and coin purses among manyy other accessories using vintage threads. Shopping for vintage fabrics is always fun, so this book will come in handy if its something you like to do.

Doris Day Paper Dolls featuring 24 Fashions From her Films by Author/Illustrator David Wolfe and Author/Editor Pierre Patrick. This fun paperdoll book was relased this week. I think its something fun to keep around your house or on your coffee table. It will surely make a great conversation book at any dinner party. Actress and Singer Doris Day is known for her starring roles in 1950’s and 1960’s films like Send me no Flowers and Pillow Talk.
