Blogging to you all from here in Toronto it is… JAY STRUTTT!!! I am “a music note wrapped up in the fabrics of vogue”.. Why do I say this you ask!?!? For the longest time… Actually, all of my life I have been obsessed with music & fashion. They have been the remaining, returning and always comforting factors in my life that motivate me to do better in every day routines and motivate me to be something great! Because of all of this I have decided to exercise my self proclaimed talents at their most intimate form by becoming a musician & a fashion blogger!
Since beginning my self proclaimed LIFE in February of 2009 I have got to learn so much and be a part of so many amazing opportunities.. I have built a growing empire around a name i chose for myself based on simple things I see in myself, Jay Strut (google it!! lol), I have got the opportunity to cover amazing events for my fashion blog, rub shoulders and build relationships with some of the cities socially elite and drink a lot of free cranberry & vodka’s!!
Since all of this I have grown so much as a person in such a short amount of time. I have also gotten to share with people how much Music & Fashion are intertwined with each other. When people ask me which one I would choose, music or fashion? I always tell them BOTH! How could I choose.. Then i ask… “What would the models walk down the runway to and would Lady GaGa wear in her music videos!!” MUSIC & FASHION baby!!!
I am also a big, big fan of street style!! I religiously stalk a gazillion street style blogs on the daily for inspiration, fixations and anything fashion from all over the world! If not online I am in the streets here in Toronto scanning the colors, proportions, shapes and brands of people’s outfits and persona’s as they walk up Yonge St. or along the vintage lines of Queen St.
I am in love with street style because it is plain and simply real people who (in most cases) work hard for what they have and make every aspect of their looks work on their own because they have learned the now way, scanning through the pages of Vogue, clicking through the posts of blogs like Bryan Boy & The Sartorialist.
I hate when people say “dont take fashion to seriously” or “dont live for fashion, have fun with it…” that is all MUMBO JUMBO to me!!! Fashion is serious, its a multi-billion dollar industry and it is the major part of everyone’s life all over the world. Staying warm, staying cool, looking hot or being a fool. I am a big believer in one having to look the part!!
I hope you guys get me a little bit more now with this little blurb!! I am excited to get your feedback and for you guys to read what I have to say, think & write.
