If so worry no more, Janie Bryant the shows Costume Designer has written a book to help fashionistas channel in their own Madmen persona without looking to costume-ish. The book titled The Fashion File: Advice, Tips and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Madmen is a great book for every woman to have, especially if you love the classics looks of the show. The book has a forward by January Jones and is set up into useful chapters as a guide on how to recreate the glamorous looks of this bygone era.
It contains eight chapters all very informative but some stand out ones are Chapter 1 You As A Leading Lady: Bryant informs how to always look chic and how to stand out in a crowd in a gratifying way amongst a group of people. Chapter 2 Defining Your Silhouette and Secrets For Dressing Your Shape: This chapter is something that everyone could always use a little help with and it gives advice on how to show off your curves and accentuate them in something that you may never have tried before. Chapter 4 Dressing For Every Occasion: Is helpful advice on how to look absolutely stunning for all the exciting events a woman encounters in her life. And Chapter 6 is The Importance of Being Accessorized: This is something I need some helpful advice in, I always here that accessories can completely change a style if you do it right! I have so much jewelry and accessories that I inherited from my grandmother and I never wear it, once in a while I will dig through all of it but its rare.
So if you are looking for a new fashion advice book, a great gift for yourself or a friend this is one you ought to have! I am going to buy it as soon as I can or maybe put it on my Christmas wish list. I love that woman are starting to look very stylish in a feminine way. Even though I love the grungy look, I would love for it to be OK to go out on a Sunday wearing gloves, a hat and matching purse along with a beautiful dress just because its a Sunday!
